Not quite sure where to place this thought, but I'll put it here.

Much of how we communicate, as humans, rely on text. It's how we define, structure, remember, cherish, love, hate It's the foundation upon which society and humanness is built.

We are text.

LLM:s are text.

I'm not entirely liking this conclusion. When are we not the same? How do we know? And when and how do we choose to separate ourselves from ... them?

@nopatience you start from something that is not true. Humanness is not built from text. We are not text. Text is just one of many things that we can produce.

Humans existed long before there was any text.

Perhaps one could say that humanness comes from feelings. Feelings are not text. We can try to describe feelings using text, but to really understand a feeling you need to have felt it yourself.

@eliasr But dig deeper. How do we know these things? How can we pass the knowledge?

Without recorded history we'd still be making fire, big stone, you die.

I believe I read somewhere that it was when human began to record things that we started elevating and evolving society.

From what I remember reading I think there was something about our current brain is not much different from the one we had 20k years ago.

What differs is our access to recorded knowledge. Text.
