I think it's an effect of how companies behave vs how people behave.

People have ethics, while companies do not. A company is not a real person but instead a "legal person" that can do things without ethics getting in the way.

For a new, small company there is a chance that the ethics of people working there can shine through and have an effect. For larger companies, as time goes on, no such chance. No ethics.
