@eliasr, I think @aurynn meant venture capital in that context. It’s probably also worth noting that iOS is developed by a big tech company with a rather interesting track record though.
@cnx when a Linux is comparable to macOS, I will be very interested. Been very interested in that for over 2 decades now.
Still waiting.
@aurynn @cnx @eliasr You like XCode? All macOS based developers I talk too hate it 🤔
Sure there isn't a single API toolkit, but there are really only 2 worthy of mention (GTK and Qt). Choose one of them and you're done (also having choice is a good thing imo).
And Linux has a giant community of developers, not sure what you're missing there.
@bart @cnx @eliasr the point being that the missing feature is a decades-old culture of developers truly caring and sweating the tiny details of good UX that suffuses macOS and iOS. This isn’t a feature checklist that any Linux can meet because the community values different things. And the things the Linux community values, I do not value.
So, please stop evangelising in my mentions.
@aurynn @cnx @eliasr Uh, sorry? I'm not trying to evangelise, just trying to counter the arguments you gave. I don't know you and I have no reason to evangelise, it seems like a bit of a hostile response to be honest. Preferring macOS, although I disagree with the reasons why, is just fine and you should do whatever you like.
