@eliasr Can I pick your brain about mobile broadband on Linux? I have a Fibocom l860-gl that I can't get software enabled it seems. But actually I don't know anymore what the problem is that i can't get nmcli to successfully connect because I have no clue what could be the problem. So your experience might help to point me in the right direction. That's the post that pointed me to you 😀 https://mastodon.social/@eliasr@librem.one/106050737002068347
Also: does the sim card need a pin code before it can work, and if so, do you have a method to enter the pin code? It can be done via mmcli I think.
My understanding of how these things work is that the modem should exist as a device in the Linux kernel, then ModemManager talks to that, and finally NetworkManager can handle that network connection for you. So both mmcli and nmcli can be of interest. ModemManager has a debug mode you can try.
Anyway, good luck with it 🙂
