President @vonderleyen@twitter.com participated with @POTUS@twitter.com in the 2nd COVID-19 summit.
We commit a further €400 million to support vaccination in countries in need and the work of @ACTAccelerator@twitter.com and envisage making a $450 million contribution to the global pandemic preparedness fund.
Could you please get vonderleyen a fediverse account?
Why does "twitter.com" need to be involved when referring to her? If you want digital sovereignty, free yourself, don't stay dependent on things like Twitter.
Did you see this?
There they wrote:
"The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) launches today the public pilot phase of two social media platforms: EU Voice and EU Video."
and
"The two platforms are part of decentralised, free and open-source social media networks that connect users in a privacy-oriented environment, based on Mastodon and PeerTube software."
and they mention "digital sovereignty" and so on. Good stuff. There is hope! 🙂
@cnx
the eu commission also wants to break e2ee, i want them to stay as far as possible from stuff i use ;)
@eliasr @EU_Commission
Well @eliasr the @EU_Commission is taking baby steps, which is still practically better than nothing. FWIW as a non-EU citizen it I wish my government also commit to free software and privacy, even just on paper.
