Help shape Europe’s Digital Commons — Open position for EDIC Director (F/M/X)

Last week, the European Commission announced the creation of the EDIC Digital Commons, a new initiative to support open, interoperable digital commons and strengthen digital sovereignty for 450 million Europeans.

The consortium is now hiring a Director to join the founding team and take the #EDICDigitalCommons into its next phase.

Russia is now using FPV drones guided via 4G networks, delivered deep into Ukrainian territory by “Molniya” UAVs. The FPV detaches mid-air and connects to Ukraine’s LTE to search for targets. One such combo attacked a civilian minibus in Mykolaivka, Sumy region, 35 km from the border.

The Danish govt has told reporters that they plan to drop the Commission's proposed "Detection Orders" (mandates requiring chat and email providers to scan people's private communications, even if it breaks end-to-end encryption), due to a lack of political support.

Having previously been fierce proponents of encryption-breaking mass scanning, this is a big change from Denmark.

However, it DOESN'T mean....

Ukrainian police released the first moments after a Russian drone strike hit a kindergarten in Kharkiv.

Thanks to the teachers who swiftly reacted to the air raid alert, all children were in the shelter, preventing more tragedy.

Thales Belgium, one of Europe’s main weapons producers, warns its rocket factories are increasingly being overflown by drones, including near its explosive assembly site in Liège.

The company says it’s seeing “unbelievable” demand for 70mm rockets, most of which go to Ukraine, but calls for clear rules to jam or down drones as NATO faces a rising aerial threat.
