@mikewaghorne @noelreports The purpose of Article 4 consultations is to decide on the response.
@noelreports Online comments in Poland under articles about the war and related topics are filled to the brim with Russian bots. It's really visible when for example a YouTuber makes a video on related topic and suddenly gets three times the comments, 2/3 of which parrot Russian propaganda.
Spotting them used to be very easy because their Polish was terrible, but they have improved greatly.
@EUCommission @ranx I'm happy to see you respond to critical comments!
You can't detect illegal materials inside a message without accessing the message contents. Whether you AI-scan the message contents before they are sent or break the encryption afterwards, it will have very negative consequences.
There are many govt and non-govt organisations protecting children and they tend to be woefully underfunded. Please consider funding them instead of focusing on broken ideas.
@noelreports I heard one AIM-120 was used, the rest were AIM-9 variants, which have shorter range but are much cheaper. IDK how reliable this info is, but I saw only one photo of AIM-120 debris and it's this one.
@NGIZero Organisation name is a required field. Is this survey only for organisations and not for individuals?
The European Commission has issued a survey on the Governance and Sustainability of Critical Open Source Software.
The survey hopes to identify "pathways for collective efforts" and make "actionable recommendations for public administrations".
It's a relatively short survey, takes max 15 minutes & provides lots of opportunities to rate FOSS as 'very important' 😛

@windsheep @EUCommission Tanks can't shoot down Russian drones and missiles.
@noelreports Gotta love all these useful idiots trying to make people believe that Ukraine somehow attacked itself using Russian soldiers.

@itsfoss With the emphasis on "that".
@EDPS This time with your own domain? Good, let's keep Mastodon decentralised.
@Watchdog_Polska Też pierwsze słyszę o Krajowej Mapie Zagrożeń Bezpieczeństwa.
🇬🇧Public pressure works: Belgium, Finland & Czechia will NOT approve the #ChatControl mass surveillance law in October. But other governments whose vote is crucial are still on the fence. Urge them to protect our digital privacy and encryption now: https://www.patrick-breyer.de/en/posts/chat-control/#WhatYouCanDo
Microsoft Word in Windows will now save new documents to the cloud by default, starting with Windows 11 version 2509. Similar changes are planned for Excel and PowerPoint https://alternativeto.net/news/2025/8/microsoft-word-will-soon-start-auto-saving-your-documents-to-the-cloud-by-default/
@alternativeto Didn't know you had a Fediverse account.
On this podcast, I explain the EU's #ChatControl plan: mandatory scanning of ALL private messages. This is unprecedented in a democracy. The only other country with a similar system is China—and they use it for political control. #StopScanningMe
