EU Cohesion Policy has been transforming our regions – and is now getting an upgrade.

This week, we proposed some key changes to boost funding for our common strategic priorities:

💡️More competitiveness and innovation

🏘️ Doubling funding for affordable housing

🛡️ Backing the defence industry and supporting Eastern border regions

🌊 More investments in water resilience

🔋 Promoting energy interconnectors and recharging infrastructure

@EUCommission Bureaucrats should not use people's money for "Doubling funding for affordable housing" and other things that can (and must) be provided by market.

@praustrian @EUCommission Both the market and the proposed investments will face the problem of limited supply of land in cities. This needs to be addressed. Cities need to step up.

@elgregor Only private investors can rationally allocate limited resources. Bureaucrats do not have the necessary tools to make such decisions. All they can do is take resources from one, spend some on themselves, and give the rest to another.

@praustrian The point is that the resource of land is being artificially limited by cities. Companies want to build more, but they can't.
