Ukrainian MP and secretary of the parliamentary committee on national security, Roman Kostenko, stated that mobilization in Ukraine should begin at age 20, criticizing a generation that he claims does not want to defend the country. He also mentioned that U.S. congressmen have expressed frustration that Ukraine is not mobilizing men under 25.
@Edizionilazio @noelreports Ukraine's demography was already grim. Then, war made it much worse. Young men dying before having children will mess it up even more.

The demands those things put on someone's body, from training to operations are huge, combat effectiveness is reduced if you have all older people (and its a reality for them since some of their officers have complained about it)
And its not much of a choice: as it stands they are short of people
