On September 9 , a Shahed-type drone loaded with explosives crashed in the Rēzekne region of Latvia. The Latvian Ministry of Defense held a press briefing where Defense Minister Sprūds, National Armed Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Kalniņš, and Air Force Commander Col. Masulis provided details on the incident. The drone, which had come from Belarus, was found in the Gaigalava parish.

@noelreports
I'm assuming that these democratic countries are not shooting down the Russian drones flying over their territory because they fear their electorate's response to any domestic casualties that might cause.

Perhaps there needs to be some temporary relocation in your country if you are one of Russia's neighbors while we are in a war with them, but I'm not saying that I know what should be done.

I know I want Ukraine's neighbors to do all they can to help end the war asap.

@GreenFire @noelreports It would be preferable to shoot them down before they enter NATO airspace, but the countries near Ukraine/Belarus don't want to act on their own. They want it to be approved by other NATO members, so there's NATO backing in case Russia responds with an escalation. So far, other NATO countries are reluctant to approve shooting down drones over Ukraine.
