Ukrainian military forces are using a new drone called "Dragon" equipped with thermite munitions. This drone can disperse thermite over enemy positions—a mixture of iron oxide and aluminum that burns at around 2500°C. This creates a "fire rain" that can cause ammunition explosions.
@noelreports This is horrendous weaponry that shows why I've been saying that drones are changing the nature of warfare maybe as much as any other new technology ever has, but war is hell and if Moscow's soldiers don't want to face it (not like they won't mimic it soon most likely) then the Russian army should withdrawal from Ukrainian territory.
@GreenFire@noelreports The drone allows more precise delivery, but the usual way to do this is to use smoke artillery shells. Russia was also using incendiary missiles earlier in the war, there were many videos of that.
@elgregor@noelreports Yes, and perhaps they are no worse than the thermobaric bombs too, but my main fear from these drones is how easy they'll be for people outside of national armies to use if they are so inclined.
But, like I've said too. I think that they may have the potential to convince more people that political violence is not worth the risk so they may try to use more peaceful means to resolve differences.

Also, maybe I just have a fear of dragons.
