Sweden will join the Czech initiative to purchase artillery shells for Ukraine, Swedish Minister for Defence Pål Jonson confirmed. Sweden will allocate €30 million which is financed by funds from Sweden’s latest military aid package to Ukraine.
@noelreports I'm maybe asking a dumb question, but why doesn't the EU just fund the shells? It's drop in the bucket for EU...

@morten_skaaning @noelreports Some EU countries insisted that EU funds can only be used for buying EU-made shells. The Czech shell importing scheme is thus done outside of EU structures.
