The thing IoT has done is provide a means for petty tyrants like landlords to concoct new and increasingly inexplicable ways to violate other peoples privacy for no reason
Trying to fathom the kind of mind that would not just come up with the berry box (why berries?) as a nice thing to do, but as a chance to make a surveillance trap to optimize which berries to include in the berry box by passive remote optimization based on revealed preferences instead of asking people which berries they liked
TBC this is not my building someone just sent this to me and they found it online
@jonny in case you were wondering, the source is an artist by the name of Alan Wagner, he makes a lot of bizarre "postings" like this one
@kevinmirsky @jonny Another good source of fakes is Obvious Plant. I'm always amazed at how many people believe their products are real toys.
