The German government has condemned the recent Russian air strikes on Ukraine as war crimes, but continues to refuse to provide Taurus cruise missiles. "There is no new status on this," said government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit.

🤷‍♂️Keep condemning

@noelreports I guess one of the reasons why they never gave a rationale for why they don't deliver Taurus missles, is that this way there's no danger that the situation might change and undermine their rationale. If they keep it a secret, they don't have to react to anything...

@StreetDogg @noelreports I suspect it's because they have no replacement for Taurus, not even in development or planning, and are afraid that Russians might develop countermeasures if they record Taurus in action, analyze the debris and perhaps get their hands on an unexploded one. Meanwhile France and UK are developing successors to SCALP-EG/Storm Shadow.

@elgregor @StreetDogg @noelreports i suspect you are wrong. They (as in Scholz) are just scared for no rational reason. Putin is waging war no matter what. We can only help him being less successful.

@jnbhlr @elgregor @noelreports @elgregor A lot of people suspect and assume a lot of things, but that's the point: There is no official reason. Literally everything people think is the reason is stuff somebody made up.
