@Lana Trump wants to destroy the value of the dollar by destroying trust in the US government, to reduce trading barriers with foreign countries.
His plan is working. Unfortunately the US is a high income country whose industry needs input. A stable currency to allow long term planning is everything in a high income country.
He is ruling as a tinpot dictator of a low income country.
@GossiTheDog I am surprised it isn't dropping faster. I am guessing business travel is still going strong. What I have heard eighty procent is reconsidering their travel plans to the US, I belive most are talking leisure travel. It is impossible to tell as their exist no visa requirements.
@Ichinin @rogeradolfsson do I need to ask if you know what a rhetorical question is? :)
@stuffifound Europe is the homeland of many Muslims.
@hacks4pancakes @fencepost it's very nice of you to assume I have nothing to do with the current administration, but...
@hacks4pancakes sorry for making a joke of it...
@hacks4pancakes "business or deportation?" - a stern faced security guard asks calmly
@rogeradolfsson how can he so obsessed with the past, and so uninformed? The first power plants was built at the point of use, like duh. The power generator was invented before transmission lines, as it turns out moving electricity long distances is really hard.
@JorisMeys The stock market will recover, eventually. The value of stocks is unfortunately more real then the value of money, on a long enough time line.
@JorisMeys the market is based on the marginal exchange value of the stock.
They multiply the total volume of stock with the price it was last traded.
The valuation is completely fictional. determined by the most willing buyer and seller.
If I for an example started a company and sold a billionth of that company for one dollar to my friend, I would be a billionaire.
This is different from a ponzi scheme as the money never existed.

@gavi @GamingNews Sony and Nintendo is in a prolonged consol war, in Japan. They are probably trying to price out Sony now when Sony have discovered that the portable market exist again.
Nintendo probably also want to price out the steam deck while they can. A virtual monopoly on the home market is hard to come by.
@bri_seven mine is how fast "it is fixed in the latest release" switches to "I won't help you when you run an unstable release".
