@LukefromDC I see no reason to believe that the military wouldn't support Trump, which makes the whole thing way more dangerous. Effectively the military would use Trump as cover to get away with anything they liked.

@crzwdjk @whitequark how is that related? Sanction evasion is only one possible reason, and arguably not even the most likely. More importantly that traders in foreign country takes advantage of regulatory arbitrage is if anything prof that sanctions are effective.
