@alyssa@treehouse.systems I don't remember exact history, but I am pretty sure both standards are taking from an AMD project. They aren't copying of each other, rather they copy from the same source (with explicit permission from AMD).

@ekg @alyssa you mean Mantle? It would be interesting to compare with that, I'm sure the spec should still be around, let me dig it up
