Anyone know anything about this new "AOSP Devs" group? It seems like it is trying to be like a community for free software devs to work on AOSP (e.g. outside of

aosp-devs.org/

@eighthave It stemmed from the AOSP/AAOS Meetup and some discussions at conferences (see the Meetings section of that page).

@eighthave Other than being aware of it and having attended a couple of the Meetups, no.

@commonsguy do you think it has a chance of gaining traction? It would be amazing to have a real community around AOSP. Google has set things up almost as if they wanted to prevent that from happening, so its not easy.

@eighthave Off the cuff, I think that the community needs to have more and clearer benefits to participation, beyond a limited-use DIscord instance and the Meetup (that already existed).

To quote Gertrude Stein, "there's no 'there' there".
