It's like having a damn hot mic. laying around. It's fine they use the same table in the database, it's elegant, but interface-wise? I have mixed feelings.
Though, since DMs aren't encrypted maybe it's for the best to have them in the same box since it's more about NOT bothering people than having a real private conversation? #dm #mastodonSuggestions
Agred. The current so-called #DM system in Mastodon is not only awful, but deliberately misleading and dangerous. It seems impossible to believe that this was an oversight: the designers seem to have wanted to force people to create DMs that, with just a single mistaken "@" to someone, turns private communications into something that others can see. This aspect of #Mastodon borders on programming #Malfeasance
It probably reveals something of the coder's mindset
