One big Linux gripe that I still have is the requirement for a physical wired keyboard for decrypting a device at boot. That requirement means that it remains impossible to use full disk encryption with a Linux phone, tablet, or gaming device (like the Steam Deck) without bringing a keyboard around with you. Bazzite even warns about this during setup on a Steam Deck.

Personally, I think we're at the point where, at least on consumer devices, you should probably be using full disk encryption, and that encryption should basically be invisible to the user.

@zak There's no such requirement. What you probably mean is that plymouth requires a keyboard, but you don't have to use plymouth for decryption passphrase and there are several on-screen keyboard implementations out there that can be used instead.
