I've stirred something. May be a hornet hive...
Some time ago, in the mother ship offices, some readers has been installed at the doors. Which is good. As previously the access was absolutely unrestricted.
Finally, there was a communication, that since given date, to access the office one needs to install an app. Which is not great, not terrible. I do not like it, I can live with it. And to give you a full picture, we only have private mobiles phones. We are given some extra allowance to cover the usage of private phone for work purposes.
The app is developed by the American company. That means they do not have to be compliant with European GDPR. Which is not good.
The app collects, among others, name, email, user ids, phone number, and - wait for it - photos. Which is a deal breaker to me.
So, email has been sent, questions has been asked.
So far I have been nice. I haven't asked where I can submit amatour kink porno pictures to avoid intermediaries. Yet.
@agturcz I would cause so many troubles with that unintentionally that I wouldn't even have to resist consciously 😅
@dos The thing is, if I forget the pass card to the customer office, I can either go to the reception and get temporary one for the day, or just bent the rules a little bit and ask a colleague to let me in.
If I forget the phone, I need to get back home. Because I won't get access to any system I need to perform any valuable work.
If I lost or break the phone, then I need to buy the new one immediately.
@agturcz Yeah, and that's utterly incompatible with "we only have private mobile phones". I wouldn't even have to really try for them to see why 😝
