i am going to turn off bridgy to bluesky bc it terrifies me not being able to delete posts

wow wtf if you block the bridgy account it just fucking deletes all your posts??? why wouldn't it just fucking delete my post if i delete it on mastodon??? terrible fucking decision

sorry this does not make me feel like it respects my privacy at all if it doesn't respect individual deletions but then completely deletes everything if i decide to stop it. i'm upset now but i'll get over it

@hipsterelectron It does individual deletions, but it's implemented in a buggy way and sometimes fails.

@dos it has failed whenever i checked so i assumed that was the policy. i can see why checking blocked status is easier and requires less polling than checking deletion of individual posts but DELETING EVERYTHING instead of just.....offering a way to explicitly delete what i want to delete??? instead of guessing??? so tech-brained ugh

@hipsterelectron It's racy, it can fail if you delete a post before it gets bridged: github.com/snarfed/bridgy-fed/

Other than that, it should work and it has worked for me in the past. If it doesn't, that would be a new bug.
