I spent 5 minutes using the terrible makeagif.com interface (because I don't have video editing software on my phone!) and at the end of the process it gives me an mp4.
THAT'S NOT A GIF. CHANGE YOUR NAME.
Admittedly I've been maintaining a python script for years with the sole purpose of converting video files into GIFs.
But that's because I'm weird! What about everyone else who tries to use this misleading website?
