It's hard to wait for something as long as i have for the #librem5, and not have any expectations. I guess the first impressions of the device are rather positive. The homescreen responds quickly. It feels like a faster phone than the specs would have you believe.
The operating system on the other hand is dated, running gnome version 3.38, released during the early phases of the phones development. Repeated messages about working on the software while the phone was on hold suggested otherwise.

@vancha A lot of components in byzantium are much newer than that; also, it's the current stable release while crimson is in development.

@dos Good to hear that work is being done on it, really looking forward to that update :) I noticed because a bunch of preinstalled apps seemed to use very old non-libadwaita themes.
There have been some crashes of the default applications that I wondered if they could have been caused by outdated software, I'll try and make myself useful in the bug trackers of the respective apps.
