Purism and Linux 5.8

"Following up on our report for Linux 5.7 this summarizes the progress on mainline support for the Librem 5 phone and its development kit during the 5.8 development cycle."

@purism It's a bit dated (was already written a couple of weeks back but afaik @merge is already working on update to cover 5.9 and 5.10. There's also more in 5.11.

When will be Linux 5.10 available to Librem5?
I need the fix for the correct battery level and PD support.

@carlosgonz @agx Battery level is already fixed in a 5.9 update that's currently in staging repos, and PD should follow soon. Those things aren't aligned with mainline kernel releases.

But answering your question - there's already a 5.11-rc2 tree available for testing and I'm running it on my phones. source.puri.sm/Librem5/linux-n

I am running Linux5.9 on evergreen and the battery is not refreshing the level when is charging, i need to reboot the L5 to refresh and see status of the battery level.

@carlosgonz As I said, those updates are not related to mainline releases. There were several 5.9 kernels distributed for Librem 5 and a new one is now available in the staging repo (and will migrate to production in a few days). This particular fix is included in version 5.9.16+librem5.1.

Now I understand, thanks for the valuable information.
A big thanks to Purism Librem5 Developers 🚩
