Dude. I like my new doctor a lot, but he put me on a medication that my insurance doesn't cover so the pharmacy refused to fill it and asked my doctor to confirm if a generic version would work instead... and four days later his staff still hasn't. So I had to call the pharmacy to learn why they hadn't filled it and what they were waiting on... then I had to call my doctor's office and talk to someone on the staff.

Meanwhile I work for a living, goddamnit...

@gardiner_bryant I'm in Australia but my sister works in her own practice in the US. If your doctor e-prescribes they should see in realtime if your insurance will cover it. They always default to substitute for generic, so ask yours for the same. But the generics can vary in ingredients and consistency, so have a talk when your doctor is prescribing. This should give you options to work with a pharmacist to get the best brand.
