I mentioned writing a blog about our #FOSS adventure to a friend who works in online marketing. He asked me: "you're going to do this anyway, wouldn't you rather make some money too?" He then advised me to use Wordpress, set up SEO, CPM advertising, an affiliate program, content marketing etc. "It wouldn't take away from your content, you're still giving that away for free."
Q: How do you gals and guys feel about this?

A good compromise of respecting your visitors anonymity and still providing you with some monetization.
