tfw. I forgot oflags=direct when dd-ing a usb stick and now dd is stuck on 100% while the whole ISO is "written" to the Linux cache, slowly making its way to the usb stick

hm... does that only happen when progress is printed?
Bc. I never used that, instead I used to sync after dd. And of course, sometimes I forgot... 🙄
@danielst not sure. I did sync after dd too, but the sync was instantenous, so looks like dd runs fsync itself...
