Before I set out on the latest #cycling trip, I wanted to print a road map with more focus on peaceful ways, and less on busy highways.

My previous attempts usually failed, but this time I found TileMill.

It's easy to install (in comparison to Mapnik) and it's designed for writing custom styles. In just an hour or two I went from zero to a useful style!

@dcz Did you try brouter-web to generate routes to your liking, yet?

@chrichri Ooh, I didn't realize it was customizeable. I'm going to have to play with it, although its appeal is different compared to choosing ad-hoc routes on a map.

@dcz For the Librem5 I still have on my list to install brouter-web local on the phone to plan bike routes.

@rinigus also provided some hope that it might be possible to use brouter as a backend for Pure Maps which would make it an even better couple to use for biking...
