At the back of the drawer there is one part of plastic which holds the electric contact for the heating that connects when the drawer closes to the back of the device to power up the heating.
That plastic back broke. The spare part I could have bought from Siemens is the whole drawer for ~290€. I repaired the plastic part using reisin and silicon.
I used the service before successfully, but there is a lot room for improvement.
Yep, you should try, really! Together with silicon it makes a perfect couple to replace or repair broken plastic parts...
@chrichri Yeah, we still far away from a proper repair culture for sure. The prices don't justify the repair at all. I just got two parts that cost the same as the whole damn thing. And I would only have needed one single plastic piece that is only available as part of a larger, more expensive thing.
I should try resin some time, I have no experience with the material.
