Had a chance to work a bit more on @pine64's #PinePhone. Its coming along nicely if I say so myself.

#PlasmaMobile
#ManjaroARM

@ManjaroARM Sad, especially as it is already more polished, has a wider set of first and third party apps and uses a more modern framework overall, not just in UI terms. Basically excludes manjaro if I have to recommend a distro for the #pinephone

@Alexmitter @ManjaroARM I'd argue QT is more modern and featureful. Kirigami has been around much longer than libhandy (since 2015) and is still actively developed, and that Plasma Mobile itself has also been around longer and is in pretty good shape.

@briana I argue that Qt is a blender of modern but useless features like QML/QtQuick. The only thing Qt does better right now is widget GPU acceleration, so hello GTK4.
Nokia developed Hildon in 2005, a mobile optimized version of GTK2 used in Maemo.
Plasma mobile is around longer then Phosh, that's true. But it reached around the same in terms of capabilities and has not the set of ported nice 3. Party apps(Lollypop, Fractal, etc) as Phosh has.

@Alexmitter Difference is payed developers versus volunteers, and a smaller demand at the time considering the lack of phones for Linux. On that note, Plasma Mobile was also developed before a solid Linux phone was available for development (Nexus 5's were generally used back before anything else, but those are hit or miss), it wasn't doing too bad.

QT is also better in terms of fractional scaling and theming imo, and it's modular.
