I saw a toot a while ago to organize an online #christmas thing with the #fediverse and I love that idea! Are we doing anything with it??

Would people be comfortable using #Discord? Because that's the only solution I can think of right now that's free, can host a large number of people, and has guaranteed chat and video quality. #Foss alternatives are very welcome!

I'm a bit too lazy to set up a #Mumble, #Matrix or #Rocketchat + #Jitsi server during #Christmas, but if anyone else wants to that that would be an option too.

@Gina an open Matrix room shouldn’t be too hard eh? Admittedly have not done large group video, but chat works well. If just chat suffices there’s the old faithful: IRC.

@ajmartinez Matrix or Rocketchat with Jitsi would be the most convenient alternative, I think.

I have zero time to set up servers, so if anyone wants to volunteer that would be great!
