@martijnbraam For me the the alpine "trouble" is mostly debug tooling. It severely miss coredumpctl and reliable backtraces. Are there replacements I should be looking at?
@drewdevault @martijnbraam To get core files at all, but then you need to set /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern to have it in a fixed location (and not what the process changed to), then grab dbgsym packages, ... and do all that on all devices you care about
@drewdevault @martijnbraam something as simple as `coredumpctl gdb` plus a debuginfod server would be totally awesome. (not complaining, just trying to learn something I can *remember*) 😃
@agx maybe this is useful for that? https://pkgs.alpinelinux.org/package/edge/community/aarch64/corecollector
@martijnbraam
Does #nix can work on an openrc system? If yes, it could provide some packages aswell.
@agx
@chfkch @martijnbraam @agx I don't believe nix has any interaction with any init system so it should work just fine.
@bart
True, i had the builders from NixOS in mind, but they should not be present in a foreign distro install.
@martijnbraam @agx
@martijnbraam I'll check that, thanks! Happy to hear if anyone is already using it.
@agx @martijnbraam ulimit -c unlimited?
