µPlayer 's #flatpak now includes all the needed #gstreamer bits to play #h264 accelerated video on the #librem5 out of the box. This allows for fast 📼 on distros that don't ship #gtk4 or #gstreamer git.

It not working yet on full screen?
@agx
Wow it nice. I tried yesteday compiling the livi package by using my Librem5 but i canceled the build because too much time of build. : ( do you have plans to share Livi on flathub.org? Or something easy to install it ?
@carlosgonz I dumped a flatpak here: https://honk.sigxcpu.org/tmp/org.sigxcpu.Livi.flatpak - note that this is not meant as a generic player but more as a testing tool - hence flathub might not make sense.
@carlosgonz yeah, it's pretty smooth and even more important to me: i can watch video continuously without thermal throttling kicking in or draining the battery too fast.
@agx
uplayer is affected for suspending like lock screen? it happened me.
@carlosgonz it's not #µPlayer, it's #phoc. Happens to all GTK4 apps and I've fixed it with this MR https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/phoc/-/merge_requests/252
so will be gone after the next #phoc release.
@agx
Can you update the uPlayer flatpak please i see new improvement.
libgtk4 is going to be available soon to L5 then i can update uPlayer from master, i am not sure if i need Gstreamer 19 to build uPlayer but i tested Gstreamer stock from terminal to see if video hardware accel work but it worked.
@agx
I updated Livi from Flathub but Livi not boot from the file manager Portfolio. So is not working ATM.
@carlosgonz works fine here in nautilus. Any error messages in the console? Does `flatpak run org.sigxcpu.Livi --h264-demo` run?
@carlosgonz note that you need libadwaita and gstreamer 1.19 too so flatpak is the easiest option (it builds pretty fast). Please file bugs if things don't work since fediverse can't capture enough details.
