Should you ever need a DisplayPort reference for NXPs imx8mq: here's a hardware mod for the Devkit to switch it from to : source.puri.sm/guido.gunther/i (based on schematic by Bernhard Fink in NXPs forums).

@agx, I'm so glad to see that you got DisplayPort working. I was wondering how Purism got around that binary blob for HDMI.

I haven't been able to find any info about the MIPI-CSI2 interface in the mainline Linux driver. Do you have any updates on that front?

@amosbatto CSI2 for mainliine is still being worked on (as is mhdp for DisplayPort HDMI) by various parties but the diff has become more and more reasonable.

@agx, Another thing that I noticed was that the i.MX 8M Plus only supports HDMI and no DisplayPort.

If the Plus requires a binary blob for HDMI like the Quad did, then it seems like the only solution for Fir is to add a chip to convert the LVDS output into DisplayPort, but it probably won't be as high of resolution as the Plus's HDMI.

Does the mainline Linux driver support LVDS on the i.MX 8M?
