I love #oatmilk. But I'm quite lazy when it comes to oat milk because I do specifically like the taste #Oatly.

But Oatly is not a good company. Whether it's suing small independent companies over a name (and losing) or sending their oat residue to dairy farms as cow feed, they are not a company I want to give my hard-earned cash to.

So, I want your recommendations for oat milk that is the closest to Oatly in taste, British, but of a better ethical standard.

@hastingsmothman I really like Plenish plenishdrinks.com And ReRooted is probably the most ethical out there, with reusable glass bottles, but I found it splits in coffee and goes off really quickly compared to others rerootedorganic.co.uk/

@hastingsmothman as an aside this conversation has made me realise just how far plant based alternatives have come, ten years ago it was sometimes hard to get hold of soy milk and here we are today mentioning three different brands of oat milk and comparing their relative merits

@afewbugs Thanks Jules - I've got a feeling I've had Plenish before. Will investigate further. There are so many manufacturers out there now. There's one I'm not fond of the taste (can't remember the name but it's almost all white packaging).

The other problem we have here is BIFFA, our recycling waste collector, do not recycle carton tetrapacks (have to go in black waste). Glass bottle versions are impossible to come by locally and we wouldn't drink enough to sustain regular delivery.🤷‍♀️

@hastingsmothman yes Tetrapaks are so annoying and it's so hard to find plant milk in anything else. Maybe that'll be the innovation in the next decade!
