If you click a link on #Mastodon, the site administrators see your visit as a direct link (ie no referrer is shown). The SEO community are not happy. (As a netizen I like it...)

@Ruth_Mottram I was a bit disappointed by this at first because I was curious to see if anyone was finding my blog through Mastodon when I joined, but now I've decided I like it
@afewbugs That's a good point! I haven't really looked at the analytics of visitors to my blog yet (or ever, really!)
@Ruth_Mottram It's more nerdy curiosity than any serious attempt to track anything but I'm always interested to see where people are coming from
