@mike_hales @gert @strypey @lightweight @bhaugen @organizingInFedi @matslats webxdc.org by the people behind @delta is interesting, in that it is webapps that uses chat as auth. As I understand, a "server" could be a chatbot sending webxdc apps as responses and handling app responses. If Quicksy support "appears", running community-member-friendly services sounds more tractable than otherwise.

"TikTok, when opening any website in their app, injects tracking code that can monitor all keystrokes, including passwords, and all taps."

I started a new site for my writings. What do you think? bookofadamz.com/

Something a bit different today...

There's a really nice Fediverse admin on here called @stux who provides lots of free decentralised public services (public instances of Mastodon, PeerTube, Pixelfed, Matrix, Nitter, Invidious, Searx etc).

Stux is spending hundreds of euros a month so that these services remain free and operational.

Apparently Stux has had a tough time finding work recently, but has their own small business which provides web hosting.

If you're looking for a small indie hosting provider, this might be a really good choice as the money raised will help keep the Fedi going too:

(I'm sorry to embarass you Stux, but I think you deserve a shout-out for the good work you do!)

One of my favorite jokes is about a socialist who's just joined a nudist colony. He sits down next to someone and tries to strike up a conversation: "So, have you read Marx?"

"Yes," replies the other nudist irritably, "it's these damn wicker chairs."

@Miniver
Ah, the octagon house near my office in Irvington, NY!

@stux You shouldn't run on a bike... put your feet on the pedals and make them go around in circles instead. :D

@thunderbird
For voice/video chat integration, you COULD add webrtc plugins for things like Webcall servers or Jitsi Meet servers. Here's an example which someone built for Outlook: community.jitsi.org/t/plug-ins

@lutindiscret
2nd this! At least for the encryption compatibility. DC doesn't really "require" a chat style UX, (email works with any UI design) but a UI option that enables that style is definitely welcome.

Also, if you prefer to still follow twitter users without an account and without using a bot mirror for mastodon, you can use #Fritter, a pretty decent client for Android that doesn't need an account to work, available on f-droid

@faehnrich
Ha! I made my first mobile responsive site in 1999. Worked great on IE with CDPD on a PocketPC.

@leah Awesome. "Constanty" typo on page 18 though.
