@Moon Is the next eternal September happening in November?
Note that if you're on a server with multiple columns, and want a simpler style feed experience, look for "Enable advanced web interface" in Preferences and uncheck the box.
(checkbox check equals columns)
Alternatively if you currently do not have the columns style (and want columns to get the most of the web browser's window in full screen, for example), then check the box :-)
"settings/preferences/appearance"
@extinct Ok, I will try.
@Kclemson Glad I found you here from the Windows Phone days! Ex-MSFT though? When did that happen?
@shanselman It's what all social networks should have been. Imagine now if things like LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube implemented ActivityPub and started federating.
@Mehhsecurity Sure. It seems better than ever this week.
@blaine Totally agree! Every business should have their own Fedi server on their own domain so that employees can micro-blog publicly.
@icedquinn I think I'll put it aside and read Fediverse posts for a while.
@icedquinn Ha! I was just playing that and wondering the same thing.
@eriner I feel like it shouldn't even have DM capabilities. Just put your preferred contact method in the Profile Metadata fields.
@kathygriffin
We're any of them spicy?
Ok, the NYC drone light show advertisement party thing was actually pretty cool. https://bookofadamz.com/candy-crush-sagas-10-year-anniversary-party-featured-a-500-drone-light-show/
Did you know you can add #fediverse account feeds to your #RSS reader? #Mastodon101
As an example, here is a URL for my account: https://mastodon.sdf.org/@cosullivan.rss
Model: Https://[instanceDomain]/[@username].rss
I don't know why I can't get my #Wordpress site to work right on the #Fediverse. It says "4 posts", but none show, and I don't know how to accept follow requests. @adamz #activitypub #help
@Tutanota Do you use DANE to enforce TLS encryption?
@molly0xfff Haha! Coincidence? Nah
@stux Too soon.
I read this elsewhere: If trusted news outlets would start offering #Mastodon instances to their staff, that would bring some sort of verification and visibility. Think social.nytimes.com, social.heise.de etc. I'd love to read more from trusted journalists on the #fediverse and this could greatly help. (Again, not my idea but couldn't find the original author.) Boosts for visibility would be great. Reminder: Favorites don't help as on this other platform.
