Can folks recommend the PineBook Pro as a daily driver?

@brandon I think some people can recommend it, but it won't be a good recommendation.

It's not powerful enough, so unless you need an ARM laptop because you need to develop for ARM, look elsewhere I would say...

@Matter It's for on-the-go writing, some limited coding not involving compilation, and some simple netflix/youtube watching

@brandon It can do that, but I don't know if the battery life is very good.

Especially since you're in North America, my usual advice would be to just get one of the bajillion end-of-lease Thinkpads on eBay, it's like 200 bucks for a great laptop.

@Matter thin and light is very much a requirement, as well as sub $500 CAD

That's partly why I was looking at the PBP.

Would you recommend a Chromebook in that price range and just hack linux onto it?

CC: @kai

@brandon @Matter @kai I have a $69 used Lenovo N22 Chromebook that I put Gallium Linux on. It's awesome except the microphone doesn't work. Much faster & better hardware than my Pinebook Pro! Still like the PBP for tinkering though.
