Right now QT on bird.makeup show up as a link to the thread on twitter.com. Should I make a native UI on bird.makeup to show the thread?

If you have a strong opinion, why?

What about just translation of QT by providing a link to the appropriate post under the proper username on bird.makeup?

T1: Alice wrote: Happy day.

T2: Bob wrote a QT: My day was sad. <Link to T1>

Post under Alice's mirror account, then use the link when creating Bob's post.

@vincent

@tcely @vincent I’d love this as well, and would let me click though to quoted users to follow them in bird.makeup as well

@vincent Hard to know exactly what you have in mind but it'd be super useful to be able to see in Mastodon what the QT is roughly about before deciding to click to take you to twitter

@gpollara @vincent Agree. Not sure how to answer without seeing how alternatives render

@vincent hi Vincent! Just learned you're the person behind bm— thank you!

All I'm looking for is to see the tweet, and if it's a reply/QT then seeing the original helps add context. Means I don't have to navigate away from my Masto timeline too much. But if I wan to interact with the tweet, having an easy option to get the web view helps. Cheers!

@vincent I’d be worried a ui in bird.markup would make it more likely the birdsite would block the app.
