@vincent I've started up my own private instance of bird.makeup today. I was intending on throwing it behind HTTP basic auth, however it appears that doing so breaks the ability to follow accounts. Is there any way I can protect the site from people adding in random accounts? I am already using a whitelist for accounts.

Thanks, realy appreciate that you made the posts followers-only so it doesn't pollute anyone else's timelines.

@jay I would recommend having a whitelist at your reverse proxy that only allows for your mastodon instance's IP.

Also whitelist for accounts are probably going away eventually
