generic profile pictures are so annoying :blobcattableflip:
and stop showing faces, if I'd want to see people I would leave my fucking room.

@lucy cause it's my face and people show me their true colours this way
@lucy there's a notable difference in the amount of misogyny and sexism I receive when it's blatant I'm a woman. when I used other pictures I was treated differently. I would rather know straight up who is a sexist and who isn't

@terryenglish @lucy actually people are more of an asshole, you would be surprised
@terryenglish @lucy when I went by a generally gender neutral persona, people would rarely insult me and if they did it would be a one off after an argument. I now have a few people who repeatedly harass me and seem to be obsessed with trying to scare me or knock me down a peg. well, their loss. their lack of confidence in themselves is not my problem.
@Ox @terryenglish a few years ago I played SL using a female character, because 1) why would I choose a generic male hulk-like lumberjack and 2) there's like 10 times as much stuff like clothing (from which are only like a 1/4 retarded lewd stuff, means it's 3/4 decent clothes) and other equipment for female characters. later I switched to a male character to get a reference to what I observed.
as a female character I did receive more insults, but the majority of people where much more friendly. I could just talk to strangers, just start a normal conversation without being insulted or simply ignored. also people started to talk to me when passing by. as a male character nobody would start talking to you which is exactly like in reality. I've met a lot of nice people, after a few weeks I knew places and items other players (male characters) didn't know about after playing for years. you could argue it's just a game, but SL is about people doing what they want without the bounds of reality. it reflects how they'd act in real life if they wouldn't have to care about stuff like consequences or time, like in any game.
I hope no one will take this as "evidence" for whatever argument, this is a simple observation and not a scientific study.
@Ox @terryenglish @lucy Anyone who spends enough time in the unmoderated sectors of the internet, will eventually and by necessity grow a thick skin and sharp teeth.
@Ox @terryenglish @lucy I've never had this experience and I've always gone by gender neutral pronouns. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to tell people not to gender me. Yet still, I receive no harassment, with the exception of one time I was stalked by someone from dickkickextremist.

You are simply abrasive and deliberately seek out places to be a punching bag to appease your own sense of self-importance. It is contemptible that you would abuse the good name of our community to appease your sense of victimhood. How someone with you personality has any friends on here at all would be a mystery if not for your profile picture. No surprise then that you insist on keeping it.
