@colonelj Okay so we're talking about lolicon not child porn so that's one detail omitted. It's questionable legal status in the United States makes it reasonable (at least to me) to remove from the site. I don't see why this excuses the numerous other problems with Gab.

@terryenglish it's not really questionable at all really. the most one could be charged for it is obscenity, but anything can be found to be obscene as it's determined (i believe) by a judge and most extreme forms of pornography publicly available online could also fit the obscenity criteria.

People call Torba a scammer and if people want to accuse them of that fine, but don't say Torba doesn't support freeze peach.

@colonelj Someone I follow got banned from Gab literally two weeks ago for posting a completely inoffensive meme with an anime girl in it.

@shampoobottle I suspect that their technical staff is completely incompetent. Every other site based on the Gab version of mastodon functions way better. if people here believed that lolicon is cheese pizza they must logically conclude our admin helped host and disseminate cheese pizza. some people here (the kf community as a whole not just kf.cc) do in fact believe lolicon is cheese pizza, but give our admin a pass because they're either disingenuous people or too scared of them. these ppl are scum imo

@colonelj No I do not. The question comes down to legal status again. All instances are bound to follow the laws of their local jurisdiction. If he's concerned that lolicon is going to attract the attention of law enforcement I can understand why he would not want it on the site.

@terryenglish with torba it wasn't really about law enforcement it was about getting unfairly punished by credit processors or something along those lines.

@colonelj I will definitely agree that Gab has been treated unfairly in that regard.

@colonelj Hosting is just generally less risky without porn and frankly I don't see the issue with them banning it. It's usually spam. I more take issue with the fact that they clearly allow other forms of spam to run rampant to inflate their numbers. @terryenglish
