like I said if someone with the common flu dies with the common flu, they cancel the test to determine which strain so they can save it for someone still alive. this skews the statistics. you can't have corona without a corona test.

there's a lot of evidence to prove its associated with higher morbidity and mortality than the flu, yes. many times more people who are confirmed to have it die, compared with people confirmed to have the flu. why do you think people would have gotten alerted to the presence of a novel coronavirus so rapidly if it were merely a different strain and no more virulent than common influenza.

I don't know the exact incidences off the top of my head. I don't know the incidences for SARS or MERS either, nor do I know the incidence of pneumonia among smokers. that's doesn't mean smoking isn't bad for you.

testing for Corona is much higher than testing for the common cold. you can't have either without a confirmed test. a lot of these statistics relate directly to the number of tests done, not necessarily deaths or infections.

It also has a long incubation period, which causes asymptomatic people to spread it with out knowing it.
