@kaikatsu It's not the flac bit that's important though. It's an attempt to preserve the quality of the original source. Ok the source might suck, but it's an accurate rendition of how much it sucked.
@Lux A vinyl rip can never be "preservation" because the medium adds flaws to the playback. CD FLAC or 24bit WEB is ideal.
@kaikatsu Meh, kinda. If all you have is the vinyl then it's doing the best with what you have. If you want to be picky though, ideal source is bitstream from the original studio DAC tape. CD is far inferior to that.
