The reason why talk so much about US politics, even though I am not an American citizen is this:

The country where I live is a shithole country run by a bunch commie kleptocrats with no sense of honor or rational thinking. But it doesn’t stop there, last year 90% of the population here voted for some form of progressive politician ( the hardline progressives were the election’s winners), of the other 10%, 4.5% went to a Gary Johnson style “Libertarian” and the other 5.5% to the only conservative party.

I have been, in local telegram and Whatsapp groups of this so called “Libertarian”, and it’s frankly disappointing. In a Telegram group, I was the only one who, in a political test, scored 0 in the Communism/Free Markets bar. The rest scored between 10-25% of Communists. And that’s not including their “we should appeal to emotion” peddling. Not only that, in the so called “Conservative” groups, I have come against people calling Putin a “Conservative” and a “Nationalist”. Yeahhh….Big Daddy Government Putin….that very same one. The amount of Brainwashing here is….simply outstanding. It’s like a living real-time Idiocracy. Not only people here are banking in blowing up the economy, but they are blaming the previous administration, smearing it as “Neoliberal”….when the last administration economic policies were Keynesian from start to finish!

So if you ask me why I only consume US news, the answer is simple: it’s the only place were I can find true conservative people who align with my values.

@TheMadPirate So American style kleptocracy is acceptable but Russian style kleptocracy is not. Check 👌

@terryenglish If you call cutting taxes, slashing regulations and upholding Natural Rights a “kleptocracy”, then yes, call me a “kleptocracy supporter”.

@TheMadPirate It was mostly just a joke. Obviously no one supports kleptocracy. My main point being that the United States and Russia are more similar than they are different at least in terms of their economic system.

@terryenglish Ohhh…you ate talking about the Corporate Socialists i.e. the “Davo’s Party”. Honestly, I can’t see how is even possible without heavy handed government regulation and intervention, not to mention the currency manipulation the Federal Reserve does. For example, the Clinton Administration forbid banks from “redlining”, creating the mortage bubble, only for the Obama administration to “reward” them when they all defaulted at the same time. So the government created a problem, only for later start cashing out to their obedient socialist cronies.

@terryenglish You wanna hear how fucked up my country is? You wanna hear about corporate socialism and it’s inherent kleptocracy?.

Well, the previous administration wanted to “reduce inflation” while at the same time fund government through bond emission. They couldn’t have a better idea than emitting 7-Day treasury letters to suck up circulating money back into the central bank. The problem were twofold, first, banks lending money to the central banks made it impossible for them to lend it to private business owners and industries and, secondly, it progressively raised interest rates since the central bank wanted banks to keep renovating the Treasury letters in order to “reduce inflation”. Obviously, banks had no issue with getting really really really good interest rates on the deal ( 60 to 70% annual interest rate), not to mention all the government had to do to pay those interests was printing money.

Final result? Damn thing destroyed the economy since no private business owner could pay those high interest rates loans, everything got more expensive ( so much for “reducing inflation” ) since industries had to raise prices in order to compensate for the high interest rates and money emission increased because when people started to cash out the loans, banks had to cancel the treasury letters.

How much of a kleptocracy do you think that is, uh?
