It's too bad that a good deal of them threw out the baby with the bathwater and discarded all leftwing politics. I suspect most of them weren't particularly political to begin with though.

I don't know how true it is that they discarded leftwing politics. Some sure. A lot of them moved towards the center, but that doesn't mean that they don't support any leftwing policies. It's usually the case that people support a mix of left and right wing stuff, and it's probably more of a matter of how the proportions of these shifted, and which issues became more important for people.
And then there are people like Shoe, that are still very much on the left, supporting Bernie and such.

I mean... I think they do. Most youtubers I follow that did/do anti-SJW stuff basically started up on the left.
