@thatbrickster they're bright people but i'm against free trade and it's depressing to me that there are zero protectionist think tanks on either the right or the left. the entire economic debate between left and right in the UK appears to be just arguing over the tiny marginal sliver of whether to crank corporation tax up or down a few basis points or not

@augustus @thatbrickster The entire economic debate in the West until recently was "now that we robbed westerners of all goods manufacturing jobs, should we also rob them of service jobs by encouraging the free flow of workers from poor countries?" with the two positions debated being: "yes", and "yes, but slowly".
