Heads up that Raspberry Pi is taking preorders for the newly released Pi 5, which is around 2-2.5 times faster than the Pi 4. I mean, isn’t that cool?

@jonw0224 @Raspberry_Pi@raspberrypi.social depends on bang for the buck ratio, there are much faster boards out there for quite some time

@ruff @jonw0224 @Raspberry_Pi there is a lot to be said for using "the standard" if you are doing electronics / hobby stuff with them. If you are just looking for a SBC to run linux on, raspberry pi might not be for you

I've meant rpi compatible (gpio/i2s/spi/etc) boards. I have all versions of rpis up to 4th, but I really doubt I'd buy 5th, after being disappointed with rpi4 performance (3 is smoother having less latency tbh, even though slower)

@ruff @jonw0224 @Raspberry_Pi I'll stay on 4s for a while myself. it's a damn shame they dropped the $35 price point though, not sure what they were thinking.
